After Pan Am died out, this airline represented the United States around the world. And the old livery was like a man in a sharp business suit with a US flag as a lapel pin, ready to do business overseas. The old livery seemed tame in today’s standards but that is what represented the United States. This country riles in success and managed to rise as elegantly as other nations despite being the youngster. This country has your Larry the Cable Guys but is also has your urbanite trendsetters. The new livery did away with all of that and only conjures the worst stereotypes of this country.

The new livery is like blasting into a business meeting with a US flag on a tshirt, an image of a bald eagle on a trucker cap and wildly firing a Colt rifle into the ceiling. These aircraft will become the white elephant in overseas airports. Its ok to be greatly patriotic when you fly domestically or strictly do business in North America (like Union Pacific), but not when your vehicles are loudly waving the flag in areas like China, France, Brazil, or Argentina. As a business you always have to take the high road.
